Blue Toothpaste

This past Monday morning after returning from our vacation I was getting the kids ready for the day. Sawyer was brushing his teeth in the bathroom while I was down the hall getting Sophia dressed. The conversation went something like this...

Sawyer: Mom, where's my blue toothpaste?

Mom: It is still in your suitcase. Just use the toothpaste that's in the bathroom.

Sawyer: I don't want the red toothpaste, I want the blue toothpaste. Did we leave my blue toothpaste at Aunt Maryberry's house in Hayden Lake?

Mom: At who's house?

Sawyer: At Maryberry's house in Hayden Lake?

At this point I can hear my 3 year old son in the bathroom saying, "Maryberry, Maryblerry, Marybreath, no Marybeth it's Aunt Marybeth"

Sawyer: Mom, at Aunt Marybeth's house in Hayden Lake. Did we leave my toothpaste at Aunt Marybeth's house mom?

He knew he didn't have the right name and it brought a smile to my face to hear him trying all the different combinations. When he finally got the right one you could just hear how proud he was of himself in his voice. The thoughts of a three year old...
